Spreadshirt (who make the shirts in Germany) ship worldwide, although obviously it is a bit pricey and substantially better value if you order a few... as someone who gets a lot of shirts coming the other way and has to pay through the nose for shipping - welcome to my world! Greg

Hey Chris - glad you're still enjoying our show!
Wildlife and hunting laws are fascinating as well as baffling :)

Sounds like an interesting book - might have to put it on my reading list.

There is more about our degenerate deer/elk/moose:
http://www.americanscientist.org/issues/pub/jefferson-buffon-and-the-moose

(I am trying to finish reading 1493, which is about the results surrounding globalization, including ecological issues with transferring living things to one continent to another, and that includes pests.)

Again, an awesome podcast. I am trying to get a certain teenage daughter to listen, but with three midterms and a senior project to present, she has some real time constraints.

My father hunts for elk, and occasionally deer in the American southwest state of Arizona (a strange place where governors have various legal issues). He was an Army officer and we lived in Texas before he retired, and the size of deer hunted there was very small. It seems that deer size is quite variable (elk are really a very large deer).

And we also have moose (a very big deer). The funny thing is that there was "scientific" movement in France that decided that the Americas were "degenerate." It was where all the animals, including humans, were reduced in size and vigor. Except it was propagated by those who never left Europe. The whole thing was hilarious.

What can I say, where I live we had very big sloths. Le sigh.

Hi Alex!
That is the exact graphic I cite in my talk - I love it! As a non-scientific person it makes the data so easy to digest and understand while relying on a very good source.
No bee goo, very little testing of that as the mechanism is very dubious... the same for the snail goo. I still a little embarrassed I ever bought that...
Hope to talk to you again soon :)

The RSS subscribe link is on the right-hand side under Site Administration - Entries RSS. It's basically http://skeprechauns.com/?feed=rss2. I have the feed from this displaying in iGoogle for testing purposes so I know it works!

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't for the life of me find the RSS feed for the show. I'm not interested in downloading iTunes to get it as I don't use an iPod. I saw one comment from Rebecca on the Skeptics Ireland blog that alluded to a Subscription Options link, but I can't find it on their site or the Skeprechauns' site. I've tried looking in the source code for both pages and Googling "skeprechauns rss," but all attempts have failed. Could you please post the link for the RSS feed of the podcast in a conspicuous location? I'd love to listen to the show.

Morning Skeprechauns
Short missive to say how much I enjoyed the 'cast. Came to you via Skeptic Zone, and am going to work the back catalogue. Good to hear an Irish take on things.
As you were discussing health supplements, wondered if you'd seen this:
http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/play/snake-oil-supplements/
An elegant graphical representation of the evidence base for different supplements. Not sure it includes bee/snail goo, but might be of interest? Link via Rationally Speaking podcast.
Anyway,
cheers &c.

I think the state of her room accurately reflects the age she is :P

I think it's important to educate people as to how things were, how far we have come & how much more there is left to do.

I think the politics in America has woken people up to the fact that not everyone has caught up to equal rights. (it's not just in america btw, it's just rigth now the spotlight is on ye).
